There’s no reason to have a screen on your mixer.
Not really..
If you were recording bands or live sound? Maybe..
But for the greater purposes, you don’t need one..
That said..you do need a screen on your recorder.
(need is a strong word)

Putting a screen on a kitchen appliance,,not always necessary…
But having a visual representation of your audio stuffs…
It’s useful.
Ultimately,what you want is a DAW in a box ..
With a screen..
Quarter inch inputs,XLR, midi I/O..
In that scenario,a screen is useful..
Not an OS, just a screen..
Track display,track editing.
There was a guy at super Booth carrying a prototype..
It would be easy to do if you were a computer guy..
An audio PC is a thing..
Back in the day,you could even play with devices off the shelf..
A new Dell and some pirated software..
Maybe that’s where our morals went bad .
Taking things that didn’t belong to us.
Movies, media, software..
We was stealing..
We was all stealin’ …
Taking shit that didn’t belong to us.
Things we didn’t purchase.
So the audience was like…
“we want it for free”
And the makers were like “please pay”
And the audience was like…”nah… we’re gonna go ahead and take it for free”
And that’s what happened..
Fast forward to now…
Being an asshole is something to show off.
