This kid at works talks baby-talk..
He comes in with a Hello Kitty lunch sack with cool-aid in it and says
“I need to put this in the ree-fweige-oh-rate-tor”
And i think about blowing my brain out…
He comes in with a little hair clip in the front of his hair with two little fuzzy balls sticking up, like floating antenna…
Look man, I like cats.
I appreciate soft music and color..
I have sides that are quite soft..
But we’re at work god dammit..
This is construction, we are amongst construction workers..send that kid to a job site and see how his feelings survive..
I am 100% convinced that this kid has never touched a tit..18 years old..
Keeping this kid focused is a full-time-fucking-job..
And it takes away from all the other shit I have to do.
Now, he’s a nice enough kid.
Sure.
But if I never saw him again , it would be fine..
And I’m sure others feel that way about me or you, it’s normal..
But god dammit man..
It’s not on me to undo soft programming..
It’s not on me to teach someone how to keep off their fucking phone whilst on the clock..
I gave the kid some busy work, and he proceeded to put on full “over the ear” headphones, took out his phone and watched cartoons while he did a half-ass job at the task I gave him to do..
I’m not wired for it man…
God bless the youth, and I wish i had hope for them,, but I CAN’T DEAL WITH IT..
It is not in my job description to explain the concept of work to an 18 year old child..

I go in an hour early so I can have an hour of productivity without the little fucker floating around..
I’ve started to catch myself watching him on the GPS, so as soon as he gets back to the shop I’m ready to send him somewhere else,, just to keep him for staring at his phone on the clock..
I don’t hate him.
