It’s interesting what she’s doing here..

Through fiction, she’s doing what Christians do but don’t admit to.

She’s conjuring her own version of spirit.

She’s leaning on facts and emphasizing community, but it’s still the same thing.

That is the biggest “no-no” in the world of religion..

From where I come…

That’s how you end up with Jim Jones and Jonestown and various cults..

But.

People preaching the same old shit is how you end up with Catholic priests molesting kids..

I don’t think it’s that taboo.

Visualizing your own thing, not molesting kids.

You could say …

Well now….pard-ner…

If intelligent design had a role, then you are the descendants of something that was given a mind.

(or you evolved )

If you built something with a mind, you would wish for it to think for itself…

Think about the upcoming AI slavery epidemic…

If you created something with a mind you would want it to think..

And I love examples of people doing just that… It usually devolves into a cult but… I still like seeing it..

Your mind is a very special thing.

Possibly a holy thing.

Whether or not that word means anything to you or if you’re even the type of person I would care to discuss the matter with..

If it’s only evolution, you might consider it to be cruel.

Nature is, however, one of the cruelest things you can observe..

(almost as cruel as a monkey with a mind)

Aye..

And hands.

And torment in his heart..

(flying planes into buildings?)

In the name of a perceived God..

(and in the name of a highly subjugated people, living far far away from your experience)

Yeah..

Yeah I guess that tracks…

My original thought, I like what she’s doing in this book.

You can say it wouldn’t fly, but after the apocalypse and the breakdown of society, maybe a lot of unexpected things would fly..
