I broke out the bass and cleaned the strings, dusted it, sprayed a little contact cleaner in the input jack.

Changed the 9 volt 🔋.

I saw some video of a bass Player saying

“studio engineers love active pickups, because they don’t have to EQ”

Pretty much..

If you get a clean active signal running into a clean active recorder of some sorts..

You don’t have to do shit.

Direct recording .

The end process sounds clean and I’m pretty sure these strings are 13 years old.

As a project,maybe I could try Frankenstein’ing a cheapo bass to hold some active EMG’s.

You’d have to break out the Dremel tool,the soldering iron, but it could be done 👍
